COUNTDOWN: There remain a horribly long 1,077 days left in this extremely hyperbolic and dishonest misadministration’s term in office…

Washington, D.C., like the capitols of all nations throughout history, has been the home of lies and liars. Regrettably, that will always be so. Weak-minded, opportunistic, insecure (as well as deceitful) politicians – like Devin Nunes and Presi-dunce Donald Chump –  will always choose to lie rather than reveal an unpleasant truth to their constituents, It enables them to pass potentially unpopular bills as well as gain the upper hand in political positions so they can defeat their opponents and gain victory, even if that victory is short-lived. It is a weakness of human nature that we, the often-unknowing public, must repeatedly endure. Thankfully, our less-than-perfect news media exists to at least partially illuminate our way. Though imperfect, it is better than nothing.

Our society and culture are literally built on lies – look at the plethora of lying TV, radio, magazine, and newspaper ads we are exposed to numerous times each day! Even a major TV network – Fox “News” – lies repeatedly to smear political opponents. One of their main commentators, Sean Hannity, is a chronic liar. The only thing that differs occasionally are the severity and extent of the lies, but, especially at Fox, they are ever-present!

We have seen Chump constantly lying. He has lied repeatedly about how well our economy has done under his tutleage, as if he and he alone deserves credit for its successes, even though this record-long rise actually began and continued under the entire presidency of his predecessor, Barack Obama. As I write this today, Wall Street has just sustained the most gigantic single day loss in points in its history, and appearances are that this correction will continue. Tuesday, thr market appeared to regain about half the value it had lost on Monday, but was very erratic most of the day. It will be interesting to see the lies Chump and his lying followers will come up with to try to wriggle out of THIS fiasco!

But Chump, who apparently has the attention span and wisdom of a gnat, naturally ignored the economic volatilty and instead chose to label Democrats who failed to stand up and applaud his every utterance during his State of the Union address as “treasonous.” The absolute absurdity of Chump’s remark led directly to Democratic Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth (who sacrificed both of her legs in the Iraq War) to rise up and justifiably refer to this cowardly creep as “Cadet Bone Spurs” – a direct reference to the excuse  Chump used to obtain a deferment from military service during the Vietnam War era. Now, it’s been revealed that Chump wants to blow taxpayer money on a wholly unnecessary July 4 miliyary parade In Washington – all for pomp and spectacle! Worse yet, this buffoon has just called for another government shutdown! The sheer hypocrisy of this moron will remain unequaled for all time in presidential politics!

In this post, I have chosen to quote a great many persons of different times and places who have chosen to give their opinions on the subject of lying. Here are some of their quotes:

“Women lie about their age; men lie about their income.”
—William Feather –
“Lying is an elementary means of self-defense.”
—Susan Sontag –

“You can fool some of the people some of the time, and you can fool all of the people some of the time, but you can;t fool all of the people all of the time.”

– Abraham Lincoln –

“If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.”
—Mark Twain –
White House press secretary Sarah Huckster Slanders is a “serial congenital liar…”
– GOP strategist Rick Wilson –

“It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one,”
– George Washington –

“There is nothing in the world like a man who doesn’t see women as people, but as walking sex-holes.”
– Jill Filipovic – (on Donald Trump)

“I’m not upset that you lied to me; I’m upset that from now on I can’t believe you.”
—Friedrich Nietzsche –
“The topic of trust is an important factor in all matters of the heart – and here’s why. Men lie to women. Women lie to men. And most people agree that some lying is even necessary – to avoid petty squabbles and to grease the wheels of a relationship. ”
– Joyce Brothers –
“Regardless of how far a person runs, a lie will eventually catch up to them.”
– Donald L. Hicks –

“When truth is replaced by silence, the silence is a lie.”
– Yevgeny Yevtushenko –

“Lies are like cockroaches, for every one you discover there are many more that are hidden.”
– Gary Hopkins –

“Lying can never save us from another lie.
– Vaclav Havel –“There is beauty in truth, even if it’s painful. Those who lie, twist life so that it looks tasty to the lazy, brilliant to the ignorant, and powerful to the weak. But lies only strengthen our defects. They don’t teach anything, help anything, fix anything or cure anything. Nor do they develop one’s character, one’s mind, one’s heart or one’s soul.”
– Jose N. Harris –
“The high-minded man must care more for the truth than for what people think.”
– Aristotle –
“Things come apart so easily when they have been held together with lies.”
– Dorothy Allison –
“Lies sound like facts to those who’ve been conditioned to mis-recognize the truth.”
– DeShanne Stokes –
“No man has a goos enough memory to be a successful liar.”
– Abraham Lincoln –
“Never hide things from hardcore thinkers. They get more aggravated, more provoked by confusion than the most painful truths.”
– Criss Janni –
“The truly scary thing about undiscovered lies is that they have a greater capacity to diminish us than exposed ones. They erode our strength, our self-esteem, our very foundation.”
– Cheryl Hughes –
“We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragwst of life is when men are afraid of the light.”
– Plato –
“I always say the truth is best even when we find it unpleasant. Any rat in a sewer can lie. It’s how rats are. It’s what makes them rats. But a human doesn’t run and hide in dark places, because he’s something more. Lying is the most personal act of cowardice there is.”
– Nancy Farmer –
“Anybody who says they are a good liar obviously is not, because any legitimately savvy liar would always insist they’re honest about everything.”
– Chuck Klosterman –
“He who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it the second time.”
– Thomas Jefferson –

“I don’t like to lie, no. I don’t like to lie, no. It’s something that–it’s not something that I would like to be doing.”
– Presi-dunce Donald Chump –

About jackjodell53

I am an American Dissident trapped in a country where poor and middle class people are constantly being exploited and lied to by a very rigid and conservative plutocratic elite. I believe in government OF, FOR, and BY the people, not one controlled as it now is by corporations and special interests.
