COUNTDOWN: It truly grieves me to mention that a very long 1,316  days yet remain in this terrible administration’s term in office…

Speaker of the Republican-controlled House Paul Ryan often absolutely infuriates me. For one thing, I usually refer to him as Paul RUIN, as I truly do believe his Ayn Rand and Ronald Reagan-inspired ideas on the economy are a crock of feces in that they overwhelmingly favor the rich and do very little for any other segment of the economy. I firmly believe, once fully implemented, that an economy devoid of government regulation replete with greatly reduced taxes for the wealthiest 1% will prove to be an utter disaster. This smug Ryan has proven himself time and again to be a pure ideologue who will side with his reactionary Republican Party above all else. Although he may fein to, he doesn’t give a damn about the poor, the handicapped, the sick or the elderly, and certainly not for average everyday American workers, especially those very few who still belong to labor unions! This charlatan is a shill for big business and corporate interests.

RUIN also claims to be a devout Roman Catholic. This is astonishing when one considers his stances on public policy seem to be greatly at odds with core principles of Catholic teaching. For example, let’s examine the Gospel of Matthew, a close disciple of Jesus, who quoted Christ numerous times in his Gospels. In Matthew 25: 31-46, we see Jesus saying, 31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

NOWHERE in this sacred passage did it say or even infer anything about depriving the poor by slashing their needed programs to give the rich massive tax breaks, and NOWHERE did it say or infer that the rich deserve or are entitled to the very best in income or all the pleasures of life – in fact, Matthew quotes Christ Himself as meaning exactly the opposite! For example, Christ is quoted in Matthew 19:24 as saying, “Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” As a professed “devout Catholic”, then, RUIN had better readjust his political and economic views on taxes, luxuries, and all other things involving income IMMEDIATELY, wouldn’t one suppose? What is preventing this blatant misguided hypocrite from making such a readjustment, anyway – is it vanity? Pride? Ignorance? Or simply the love of power, money, and the wealthy?

Unless and until Speaker RUIN mends his ways, renounces the equally hypocritical Ayn Rand, renounces the fallacy of economics proposed by Milton Friedman and implemented by Ronald Reagan, and begins to vote in FAVOR of the marginalized and programs which will help them, it behooves us to vote him OUT of office in 2018!

About jackjodell53

I am an American Dissident trapped in a country where poor and middle class people are constantly being exploited and lied to by a very rigid and conservative plutocratic elite. I believe in government OF, FOR, and BY the people, not one controlled as it now is by corporations and special interests.
