Contrast in Failure: Kennedy and Cuba, Trump and Yemen

Mar. 6, 2017   By Jack Jodell, American Dissident, N.M.P. (in association with the gifted writer BURR DEMING, creator of and chief author over at the brilliant blog site Fair and UNbalanced. com – see my Blogroll at the lower right hand column of this page).

Happy first Monday, everybody! Today’s podcast is an excellent contrast in styles between two different Presidents who governed in two different times. Both men were born into wealth, yet they lived very different lives.  One gave of himself his entire life, and the other has spent his life taking whatever he can by bullying his adversaries into submission.  Both men also enjoyed the company of women. However, when it came to leadership, color jfkonly one  stands head and shoulders above the other. John F. Kennedy grew up in a family where current world and political events were typically routinely discussed around the dinner table. He was observant and listened and partook. He went into the service and distinguished himself in battle, injuring his back in the process. Donald Trump was incorrigible and had to be sent off to military school, where he failed to distinguish himself in any way. Kennedy went into government, serving as first a representative, then a senator, and finally as President. He got along well with his fellow acquaintances, was loved by them, and fought for, and constantly thought of, the well-being of those of lesser means.  Trump followed his dad into the family business, procured great wealth for himself, learned quickly how to manipulate and dominate others, and seldom if ever gave a thought to
those of lesser means. As President, JFK inherited and implemented the disastrous Bay of Pigs military conflict in Cuba. After its failure, he accepted hateful ytumpfull blame and responsibility for it, refusing to blame the previous administration at all, and achieved great popular support as a result. On the other hand, Trump approved a disastrous botched raid in Yemen, and, after its failure, scapegoated blame onto President Obama and to his generals, and indirectly onto its participants. It has just been revealed that Trump has also accused his predecessor of having wiretapped his home in New York – a claim given without proof to back it up, and one which his predecessor immediately branded “simply false” .

Burr points out this contrast brilliantly today.

burrHe says, “Two Presidents, two parallel military tragedies, two entirely different standards of personal responsibility.”

Truer words have never been spoken.

About jackjodell53

I am an American Dissident trapped in a country where poor and middle class people are constantly being exploited and lied to by a very rigid and conservative plutocratic elite. I believe in government OF, FOR, and BY the people, not one controlled as it now is by corporations and special interests.
