Sept. 21, 2015 By Jack Jodell (in association with BURR DEMING of Fair And UNbalanced.Com – see my Blogroll in the lower right – hand column).
Happy new Monday, everybody! Far-right former Arkansas governor, and one-time preacher and Fox “News” commentator Mike Huckabee has been quite prominent in the news lately, appearing in the recent CNN 2016 Republican presidential contenders debate and having flown to be by lawbreaker Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis’s side as she was released from jail for having refused to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. Huckabee, ever the preacher, has adopted the position that Ms. Davis has the moral authority to defy the Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage. He cites the example Abraham Lincoln set by not following the Court’s 1857 Dred Scott decision as proof that Ms. Davis was correct to defy this latest decision and act as she did. Our master podcaster Burr Deming disagrees, as do I, with Huckabee, and explains precisely how and why in this latest podcast.
Burr states, “Mike Huckabee is right that the Dred Scott decision was a moral and legal monstrosity. He is only wrong about Gay Rights, American history, the law, the courts, and every President since Thomas Jefferson.”
