Sept. 8, 2015 By Jack Jodell (in association with BURR SEMING of FAIR AND UNBALANCED.COM – see my Blogroll in the lower right hand column).
Now, in this post-Labor Day glow, with the kids all back in school, I join my podcaster extraordinaire in waxing nostalgic over the past. How naive we must have been to think that nothing could possibly be worse than the presidency of Richard Nixon or the continuance of the Vietnam War. How could anyone have forseen the horribly corrupt Geortge W. Bush and DICK Cheney regime, or that those two war criminals would lie this country into a very costly and wholly unnecessary war in Iraq for plunder and profit? Or that a politician Mr. Deming once greatly admired, and who did many good things for his constituebts, could also be corrupt and would eventually serve time in prison for that corruption? It is a special, deep kind of anguish we feel when we see that our former heroes have actually betrayed us. Burr Deming shares part of that anguish in his podcast today.
He did it with no political benefit to himself, and he did it against a vicious campaign waged by entrenched medical, insurance, and business interests.
He was a hero.
He should have served a longer term in prison…”
