POWER TO THE PEOPLE – AND NOT THE CORPORATIONS!

June 18, 2015  By Jack Jodell.

We apparently dodged a huge bullet last week by banding together in a coordinated, united effort to prevent passage of the horrible and VERY odious “free trade”attempt known as the Trans Pacific Partnership, also referred to as TPP. According to an email sent out by the blog The Daily Kos, an astounding 245,460 members of the Daily Kos readership community contacted Congress an incredible 464,960 times to beat back a trade deal that many believed was unbeatable! This email also asserts that The Washington Post reports that John Boehner is putting Fast Track on the back burner because he doesn’t have the votes to pass it. But he could call it up for a re-vote before July 30.” This means, of course, that Congress DOES listen after all, especially when many hundreds of thousands of voters take the time and make the effort to write, call their offices, or flood them with emails containing a nearly identical message – “VOTE NO ON TAA, NO on TPA Fast Track, and NO on TPP!”! These numbers  are encouraging, for, in reality, an even greater number responded due to repeated exhortations from progressive radio and TV host Thom Hartmann and many other lefty personalities and bloggers, including yours truly. But we are not safely out of the woods yet! Congressional corporatists and even President Obama are still arm-twisting and scheming for a way to pass this monstrosity – and we must be ever vigilant to make sure that they NEVER do! This abomination must die and stay dead – POWER TO THE PEOPLE, and NOT THE CORPORATIONS!!!

About jackjodell53

I am an American Dissident trapped in a country where poor and middle class people are constantly being exploited and lied to by a very rigid and conservative plutocratic elite. I believe in government OF, FOR, and BY the people, not one controlled as it now is by corporations and special interests.
