May 4, 2015  By Jack Jodell (in association with Burr Deming of Fair and – see my Blogroll in the lower right hand column).                                                                                                                                                                                      Happy first Monday in this merry month of May, everybody! In this week’s offering, our podcaster extraordinaire Burr Deming points out how foolish and contradictory today’s Tea Party-infested, reactionary Republican Party is when it tries to regulate a woman’s body while simultaneously insisting the government should not regu;ate business. After all, aren’t freedom-loving human beings  far more important than mere businesses? And why should the former be regulated, but not the latter? Burr harkens back to the early 1960s to remind us of a similar controversy which involved banning prayer in public schools. Conservatives have been attempting to overturn that Supreme Court decision ever since and have had no success. Guess we’ll never be able to understand these goofy, convoluted Republicans… burr demingBurr states, The Republican definition of religious freedom recently became the freedom of an employer to decide whether employees could get birth control as part of their insurance package.     Then freedom of religion transmuted into the right of an employer to order an insurance company not to provide birth control on its own.      Now freedom of religion has mutated into the right of any boss to require workers to report to management, and ask permission, if they want to go to their local pharmacy on their own time and pay for birth control themselves.         The vote was unanimous.”       Podcast:       Transcript: —————————————————————————————————————————- JOIN  US  LIVE nearly every Sunday from 6 – 7 PM Eastern Time on BlogTalkRadio’s HERE-BE-MONSTERS THE SUNDAY SHOW.  My  co-hosts GWEN BARRY of ROUNDTREE7 Blog, WAYNE JOHNSON of MINDS AND TIMES OF F. About jackjodell53

I am an American Dissident trapped in a country where poor and middle class people are constantly being exploited and lied to by a very rigid and conservative plutocratic elite. I believe in government OF, FOR, and BY the people, not one controlled as it now is by corporations and special interests.

Getting permission from your boss on how you spend your money is an unbelievable extension of religious freedom. It is not religious freedom. It is religious craziness.

You hit the nail squarely on the head with that one, Jerry! This shows how cynical and opportunistic that far right / religious right really is. I prefer to call them the “religious wrong.”
