A very happy Monday to you, everyone! Today’s doubleheader features a pair which will leave you thinking.  The first, called “The Budapest Agreement and Iran” shows how Republicans will contradict themselves just to make a political point – they are definitely getting quite good at doing so.

burr demingAs Burr says, Republicans held a press event about Ukraine in which they urged America to keep its word, when its word was given by past administrations in Presidential agreements.

In fact, we did keep our word in Ukraine.

Interestingly, Republicans specifically stressed the importance of making sure Iran knows we always keep our word.   That was five weeks before they instructed Iran not to trust Presidential agreements.”

The second podcast, entitled “How Will the Sinking Teeth of Republicans Save Retirement” has Burr musing on how he thinks Republicans will further cut and damage integral parts of our still very-needed 80 year old social safety net.

burr demingIn his own words, Burr tells us, “Republicans have refused to reveal the details of their budget plans. They have learned from past experience how media analysts will focus on Social Security and Medicare cuts.

But Tom Price, who heads the Budget committee, let his guard down a little at a recent conservative conclave. He used the usual audience tested euphemisms, but the direction Republicans in Congress are taking was clear.

Get ready for a bumpy ride.”

About jackjodell53

I am an American Dissident trapped in a country where poor and middle class people are constantly being exploited and lied to by a very rigid and conservative plutocratic elite. I believe in government OF, FOR, and BY the people, not one controlled as it now is by corporations and special interests.

  1. Ref: Today’s Wall Street Journal Report

It is not uncommon for one ally to collect intelligence on another; but what makes the Wall Street Journal revelation unprecedented is that Israel fed this information to Congressional Republicans in an effort to alter the course of U.S. foreign policy. If intelligence gathering is considered standard operating procedure – even among allies – direct interference in the internal affairs of governments raises the stakes.

More troublesome is the fact that Congressional Republicans acted as co-conspirators to gain partisan advantage. Never before in the history of the United States has an opposition party colluded with a foreign power – in direct violation of constitutional norms and protocols. The time has come to put teeth into the Logan Act: Mutiny against the Commander-in-Chief is an act of sedition.

If ‘sedition’ is one operant word, the other is impeachment. Unfortunately, impeachment is a political process requiring passage by vote in the House of Representatives and a trial by vote in the Senate. Since accused criminals rarely admit to their crimes and never sit on their own juries, the prospect of 47 Senators impeaching themselves is highly unlikely.

The only other option is to weigh the evidence in the court of public opinion. This time, I hope our news media will not let us down.

Thank you, Daqvid. The only problem is that the “court of public opinion ” will undoubtedly be swayed and tainted by the injection of a huge amount of corporate money…
