TRUE FACTS ON THE REPUBLICAN PARTY From Experts on the Subject!

Nov. 20. 2014 By Jack Jodell.

A wise person once said “the more things change, the more they stay the same.” And so it has been with the Republican Party. With rare exception (only in the days of Abraham Lincoln, and again, briefly, during the administrations of Teddy Roosevelt and William Howard Taft, over 100 years ago), this wayward party has screwed regular working people to favor the rich and big business owners. Now, reactionary as never before and fully infested with backward-looking Tea Party types, it is obsessed with turning this country into an oligarchy, preying upon the ignorance of its blind followers and the apathy of the general public to advance its regressive agenda. Below, I feature a number of quotes, by living as well as dead people, which factually describe this wretched Republican Party, especially as it exists today…

“Republicans approve of the American farmer, but they are willing to help him go broke. They stand four-square for the American home–but not for housing. They are strong for labor–but they are stronger for restricting labor’s rights. They favor minimum wage–the smaller the minimum wage the better. They endorse educational opportunity for all–but they won’t spend money for teachers or for schools. They think modern medical care and hospitals are fine–for people who can afford them. They consider electrical power a great blessing–but only when the private power companies get their rake-off. They think American standard of living is a fine thing–so long as it doesn’t spread to all the people. And they admire of Government of the United States so much that they would like to buy it.”
― Harry S Truman –

“Latins for Republicans – it’s like roaches for Raid. ”
― John Lrguizamo –

“When widely followed public figures feel free to say anything, without any fact-checking, it becomes impossible for a democracy to think intelligently about big issues.”
– Thomas Friedman –

“The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn’t work and then they get elected and prove it.”
– P.J. O’Rourke –

“The \Tea Party people say they’re angry about socialism, but maybe they’re really angry about capitalism. If there’s a sense of being looked down upon, it’s that sense of failure that’s built into a system that assures everyone they can make it to the top, but then reserves the top for only a tiny fraction of the strivers.”
– Gail Collins –

“Republicans are men of narrow vision, who are afraid of the future.”
– Jimmy Carter –

“Caring for our veterans is the duty of a grateful nation. Unfortunately, the Bush administration and congressional Republicans have not lived up to this duty.”
– Patty Murray –

“Republicans stand for raw, unbridled evil and greed and ignorance smothered in balloons and ribbons.”
– Frank Zappa –

“If the Republicans will stop telling lies about the Democrats, we’ll stop telling the truth about them.”
– Adlai E. Stevenson –

“I was raised the old-fashioned way, with a stern set of moral principles: Never lie, cheat, steal or knowingly spread a venereal disease. Never speed up to hit a pedestrian or, or course, stop to kick a pedestrian who has already been hit. From which it followed, of course, that one would never ever — on pain of deletion from dozens of Christmas card lists across the country — vote Republican. ”
– Barbara Ehrenreich –

“Republicans are taking the defeat over Health Care as well as Tiger Woods took to marriage.”
– Bill Maher –

“I’ve always found it quaint and rather touching that there is a movement (Libertarian Republicans) in the U.S. that thinks that Americans are not yet selfish enough.”
– Christopher Hitchens –

“In 2001, the oil companies, the war contractors and the Neo-Con-Artists seized the economy and added $4 trillion of unproductive spending to the national debt. We now pay four times more for defence, three times more for gasoline and home-heating oil and twice what we payed for health-care. Millions of Americans have lost their jobs, their homes, their health-care, their pensions; trillions of dollars for an unnecessary war payed for with borrowed money. Tens of billions of dollars in cash and weapons disappeared into thin air at the cost of the lives of our troops and innocent Iraqis, while all the President’s oil men are maneuvering on Iraq’s oil. Borrowed money to bomb bridges in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. No money to rebuild bridges in America. Borrowed money to start a hot war with Iran, now we have another cold war with Russia and the American economy has become a game of Russian roulette.”
= Dennis Kucinich –

“Let’s be very honest about what this is about. It;s not about bashing Democrats; it;s not about taxes; they have no idea what the Boston Tea Party was about; they don’t know their history at all. This is about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism, straight up.”
– Janeane Garofalo –

“Bob Dole revealed he is one of the test subjects for Viagra. He said on Larry King, ‘I wish I had bought stock in it.’ Only a Republican would think the best part of Viagra is the fact that you could make money off of it.”
– Jay Leno –

“I never did give them hell – I just told the truth, and they thought it was hell.”
– Harry S Truman –

“The next time some academics tell you jow important diversity is,  ask how many Republicans there are in their Sociology department.”
– Thomas Sowell –

“The largest party in America, by the way, is not the Democrats nor the Republicans – it’s the non-voters.”
– Robert Reich –

“Democrats legislate – Republicans investigate.”
– Lyndon B. Johnson –

““Now, if there were an Olympics for misleading, mismanaging and misappropriating then this [George W. Bush] administration would take the gold, world-records for violations of national and international law. They want another four year term to continue to alienate our allies, spend our children’s inheritance and hollow out the economy. We cannot afford another Republican administration.”
– Dennis Kucinich –

“Brains, you know, are suspect in the Republican Party.”
– Walter J. Lippmann –

About jackjodell53

I am an American Dissident trapped in a country where poor and middle class people are constantly being exploited and lied to by a very rigid and conservative plutocratic elite. I believe in government OF, FOR, and BY the people, not one controlled as it now is by corporations and special interests.

Great list of quotes, Jack. Hey Republicans! The truth hurts!

  2. Hello Jack my friend,
Your posting put a smile on my face this morning, and thought I would pass on one of my own.

Too many in this country would rather bend their knee bowing down to a corporation’s
servitude propaganda than stretch their minds intellectually towards their own freedom of truth.

Have a good Thanksgiving. I’ll be traveling home soon to be with my family. I’ll be calling into “Here Be Monsters, The Sunday Show” the Sunday afterward.

Thanks, Wayne, and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well! As Pancho Villa once said, “Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees!”

  3. Hello Jack,
Here is another thought on the latest announcements coming out of DC …”The House Intelligence Panel debunks many of the Benghazi theories”.

As Shakespeare wrote, “Tempest in a teapot”. We all knew that this was ” Much to do about nothing”. It was all a dog and pony show at a cost of millions of dollars of the taxpayer’s dollars.

So much for the Republican’s “fiscal responsibility” line of bull.

I can still hear the mindless chant, Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi….as if they were well informed on the latest Obama / Hillary conspiracy.

    Now to follow up.

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham criticized the recently released House Republican report that concludes no intelligence lapses in connection with the fatal Benghazi attacks. Of course the truth is not what Sen. Lindsey wanted it to be so he stated that the congressional investigators did a “lousy job”. “I think the report is full of crap”.

This is what he had to say about his own House Republican’s findings. There is just no pleasing some ill rational people….and they should not let him walk the streets, much less vote in the Senate.

  4. jackjodell53 says:

Thanks, Wayne. Typical garbage from that Teabagger infested group of loudmouthed lying crybabies. These people are reprehensible and are endlessly chatting in a hot air wind tunnel of nonsense. Their hatred of Obama is so total it clouds any possible rational thinking on their part. The Republican caucus is a complete waste of time and money for the 99% MAJORITY.
