I SURE AM! This is an outright plug for the only truly independent, wholly non-corporate, non-commercial TV network, LINK TV.  The network is FULLY viewer-supported and free from all the corporate bias and annoying commercials we are all deluged with CONSTANTLY on commercial TV. You can see LINK TV on satellite at channel 9410 on DISH Network, or channel 375 on DIRECTV. It is also available on numerous local cable networks (you can activate an interactive map of these by going to the LINK TV website at Below is some additional info I have culled for you direct from their website.

Formed in 1999, Link Media owns and operates the broadcast channel Link TV and Link is the first nationwide television channel and website dedicated to providing global perspectives on news, events and culture. Link’s programs provide a unique perspective on international news, current events, and diverse cultures, presenting issues not often covered in the U.S. media. We connect viewers with people at the heart of breaking events, organizations in the forefront of social change and the cultures of an increasingly global community.

In December 1999, Link Media launched Link TV, the first nationwide television network dedicated to providing Americans with global perspectives on news, events and culture. Link was awarded a coveted FCC “set-aside” non-commercial license on DIRECTV and was added to EchoStar’s DISH Network a few weeks later.

Every day Link broadcasts a 24-hour mix of uncompromising documentaries, international news analysis programs and diverse cultural programs to over 32 million U.S. homes. Link’s original programs are distributed to more than 174 cable stations, reaching an additional 20 million households. Audience research indicates that there are more than 5.8 million regular satellite viewers of Link TV, who watch an average of 2.5 hours each week. In addition, 57% of these regular viewers report they have taken action as a result of something they have experienced on Link TV.

Over the past few years, more of Link’s programming has become available on the Internet. has become a valuable destination for streaming videos. Currently we serve over 4,300 video segments or full programs, available for high-quality streaming, and have expanded availability of these videos on on-line distribution platforms such as YouTube, iTunes and The Huffington Post. Link videos have been viewed online more than 3.4 million times over the past year. One-third of Link’s Web users are from countries outside of the U.S.

Link Media, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in California.  The original founders were Internews Network, a leading supporter of independent television around the world, the Independent Television Service (ITVS), an experienced supplier of independently-produced programs for public television, and Internews Interactive (InterAct), a specialist in participatory TV programming. In 2009, Link Media, Inc. formed a partnership with YouthNoise, which has become the backbone of its Engagement division. YouthNoise has the aim of encouraging youth civic engagement and community service through the integration of television, web and mobile technologies.

LINK TV features top-notch documentaries, domestic and foreign news, world music and cinematography, and informative and provocative shows and guests. It is THE only source for Amy Goodman’s fabulous DEMOCRACY NOW; Al Jazeera English World News; MOSAIC (News from and by networks in the Middle East); specials that uncover dirt by insiders on Wall Street, in Coca Cola,  and corporate America in general (The Best Government Money Can Buy, Money-Driven Medicine, Rich Media-Poor Democracy, The Millionaires’ Tea Party, Robert Scheer on the Great American Stickup. Noam Chomsky’s Who Controls the Message); plus hard-hitting investigative journalism (remember that?) like The Israel Lobby, Robert Fisk’s Lies and Misreporting on the Middle East, and 9/11: Press for Truth. GO TO THE WEBSITE AND CHECK IT OUT!

If you are fed up with nonstop commercials, right-wing or boring, predictable, “safe” middle-of-the-road pundits, and endless repetitive discussions on Charlie Sheen and other Hollywood idiot figures, then LINK TV is for YOU!

As I have already mentioned, this network is fully viewer-supported. Once you’ve had the chance to see it or have studied their website, why not make a one-time or monthly contribution to ensure that vital programming like this remains on the air? They have currently just begun their quarterly fundraising drive, and you could do the progressive cause a really good turn by phoning in a pledge toll-free to 1-866-485-8848. Or, you could mail in your donation via check or money order to :

Link TV
P.O. Box 2008
San Francisco, CA  94126

These pledges are fully tax deductible. I have absolutely no vested interest in this network at all. I am simply SICK OF FOX “NEWS”, incessant irritating TV commercials sponsored and produced by a ptofit-obsessed corporate America who doesn’t care for, and LIES CONSTANTLY to, YOU and I, and the constant, mindless nonsensical chatter being engaged in by talking heads and stupid pundits.

About jackjodell53

I am an American Dissident trapped in a country where poor and middle class people are constantly being exploited and lied to by a very rigid and conservative plutocratic elite. I believe in government OF, FOR, and BY the people, not one controlled as it now is by corporations and special interests.

That sounds great. I haven’t even heard of them. I don’t have satellite or Direct TV; I’ll have to click on that link to see if our cable package includes it.

I don’t watch much TV (I know, that’s what they all say), but that sounds like it’s worth watching.

I don’t blame you for not watching much TV—with the steady stream of obnoxious commercials and mindless chatter, there’s not much to watch! I’m sure once you start watching LINK TV, you, too, will become addicted and impressed by their variety of intelligent programming, just as I was!

  2. Link TV is a very worthwhile alternative, Jack. Here’s another one. Free Speech TV is also available on DirecTV and on the Web, with live streaming and not-live streaming video on demand. It’s probably on cable, too. One of FSTV’s top personalities is Thom Hartmann, a polific author and radio talk show host I find to be especially smart and insightful.

THANK YOU! I’ll look into it and post on it soon. We have GOT to get around this maddening, slanted, bullshit corporate media! (Sorry about my overactive spam filter—it took me a little while to figure how to get your comment out of it).

  3. OK, I just left a comment with a valid, nonspam link in it. I imagine it went to your spam trap page. It can be set free by hovering over the bottom of the comment, and in the menu line that appears, clicking “approve.”

  4. i’d love to share this posting with the readers on my site. thanks for sharing!

  5. hi-ya, I like all your posts, keep them coming.
